About Us

Adam Amos and Noel Rocks are talented singer/musicians. They both play guitar and Noel also plays the five-string banjo. Their voices and instruments blend together, creating a unique sound that is truly their own.

Adam and Noel recorded two albums in the 1980’s, both released on the Celtic Music Label. They toured extensively throughout the UK and Europe for many years. They stopped performing as a duo when Adam moved abroad and they both pursued their own separate projects. They got back together, briefly, in 2015 to perform two sell out shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The duo started working on their new album in 2019, when Adam returned home to live permanently in Scotland.

Adam Amos

Guitar, vocals

Adam hails from Scotland, with an Irish mother and Scottish father. Prior to joining up with Noel, Adam performed as a solo singer/guitarist, his early influences being contemporary singer/songwriters. This background has enabled Adam to add another dimension to the duo’s imaginative interpretations of the contemporary and traditional songs and tunes they play. Adam has some fine self-penned songs in his repertoire. His sensitive vocals and distinctive guitarwork, complement Noels approach, giving the duo an enviable vocal and instrumental strength.

Noel Rocks

Guitar, five-string banjo and vocals

Noel, born and bred in Belfast, has his routes firmly in the early days of the Ulster folk revival. His banjo playing and love of Americana and bluegrass has also influenced his approach. Before forming the duo with Adam, Noel was involved in many band line-ups, resulting in numerous radio and television appearances. Noel’s banjo playing is highly regarded and his distinctive vocals and stage presence is an integral part of the duos live performances. He has now added a number of his own songs to the Amos and Rocks repertoire.
